SUMMARY:Earth Day Vegetable Butchery Demonstration
DESCRIPTION:Over 40 percent of edible food goes to waste in the U.S. each year\, much of it produce. Wasting food wastes all of the energy that went into growing\, transporting\, and preparing that food. In addition\, when organic matter\, such as food waste\, is put into the anaerobic (meaning without oxygen) environment of a landfill\, it emits methane gas\, a greenhouse gas 20-25 times more powerful than carbon dioxide. \nCome to a half hour demonstration to get tips and to see how to prep vegetables and see a recipe demonstrated that takes advantage of the whole vegetable and that doesn’t have any waste. Delicious and an opportunity to win in the fight against food waste!
